LPD Asks for Info on Commercial Burglaries - Handgun Thefts

RESOLVEDThere were two commercial burglaries in Louisville over the weekend and both involve the theft of guns. On Friday night, May 20, Western Auto located on West Main Street in Louisville was broken into. The front door glass was broken and several handguns were taken from the property.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 22, Bennett's Do It Center located on South Church Avenue in Louisville was also burglarized. The front door entrance glass was broken and a number of handguns were stolen including a number of Glock and Sig Sauer pistols.

Louisville Police have been investigating, questioned several people and have since recovered at least three guns from one of these burglaries. Home Invasion - May 24

RESOLVED  In the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 24, the Louisville Police Department responded to a 911 call in the 1000 block of North Columbus Avenue. Officers arrived on the scene almost immediately and found that the front door of the residence had been kicked in.

Upon talking with the occupant of the home, it was determined that a black male in a white T-shirt and jeans had kicked in the front door of the home and had taken a Ruger 9-millimeter semi-automatic pistol, $160 in change and the property owner's driver's license and credit cards.

The female occupant of the home did struggle with the perpetrator and suffered some minor scratches and bruises, but did not require medical care.
