Sheriff Asks for Info on 12-2-15 Burglaries

The Winston County Sheriff's Department is asking the public for information on a pair of burglaries that occurred on December 2 on Sturgis Road near Highway 25. Two homes were burglarized and a television and money were taken. A witness identified a gold midsize car in the area at the time.

Oktibbeha CountyAuthorities also reported similar burglaries near the same time in the Craig Springs area.

Arrest Has Been Made For The Mali's Store Burgalary

The Winston County Sheriff's Dept. has made an arrest in the September 15, 2015 business burglary of Mali's Store on Hwy 25 South, Louisville. Eric Shinall, a 38 yr. old black male of Jackson, MS has been charged with business burglary. Video surveillance from the store at the time of the burglary led to Shinall as a suspect in this incident. Shinall is currently being held in the Rankin County Jail on similar charges in that county.

Louisville Police Respond to Two Separate Shooting Incidents Over The Weekend

The Louisville Police Department responded to a call on Vance Street around 1:39 a.m. on Saturday morning at the club classic. And altercation led to shots fired and resulted in four minor injuries. Three individuals required medical attention. One suspect is sought and has been identified.

In a separate incident police were called to the 500 block of Warner Avenue due to a report of shots being fired. This occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Witnesses said a small,dark,gray car stopped in the street in front of a residence and fired shots into the home. There were no injuries and police are still investigating at this time.

 Said Chief L.M. Claiborne, "there appears to be a rash of shootings in the community recently. We will do our best to find and remove the individuals responsible from our community."

Officers Respond To Shooting on North Court Ave. 11-8-15

On Sunday, November 08, 2015 at 11:00 PM, officers responded to a shots fired call at 505 North Court Ave. Upon arrival officers found two people shot inside of the house.

One, an adult male, had been shot in the lower leg. The other, a male juvenile had been shot in the groin. One was transported to Oktibbeha County Hospital, while the other was taken to UMC in Jackson.

LPD respond To Burglary at Local Laundromat

LPD responded to a call on 11-1-15 at the Soap & Suds Laundromat around 8:15 a.m. Manager indicated that the lock on an office door had been broken and the door was damaged.  A soap dispenser had also been broken into.  Video showed a black female with a Louisville school jacket with the number 30 on it . Black sweat pants with Louisville on the left leg and a tan cap. The video is being further processed to identify facial features of the suspect. LPD Looking For Suspect In Car Wash Breaking & Entering

Louisville Police Department responded to a call on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the car wash on 810 N. Church. After inspection, it was determined that someone had entered the building. The perpetrator left a cap (seen below) at the scene as well as a broken end of a pellet gun. Law Enforcement Searching For Stolen ATV

The Winston County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a 4-wheeler stolen from Sims Road in the county on October 13.

The green 2014 Honda Fourtrax Foreman 500 was taken between 8:30-10:30 by a suspect driving a black extended cab truck.  The ATV had brush guards and a back rack.

Sheriff Investigates Hwy 25S Break In at Grocery

The Winston County Sheriff''s Office is investigating an early Tuesday morning break-in and robbery at Mali's Grocery on Hwy 25 South in Winston County.  The robbery occurred around 3:00 am when three individuals driving a white Dodge Charger (probably a 1998 model) used a rock to break the glass door on the south side of the building. Cigarettes, phone chargers, lighters and other miscellaneous items were taken.

The three men wore bandanas over their faces and the tag of the vehicle was masked. They are believed to be two African American males and either a light skinned African American or Latino male. One individual can be seen here with tattoos on his left arm and hand. The tattoo on the hand appears to read "ERIC"

Louisville Police Searching for Burglar

On the morning of September 10, 2015, the Louisville Police Department received a call of a burglary at Mama's Grill, 806 B North Church Ave. Entry was made through the rear wall of the store. The only thing missing is an yet undetermined amount of money. Winston County Sheriff's Department Investigating Theft on Shuqualak Road

The Winston County Sheriff's office responded to a breaking and entering in the 700 block of Shuqualak Rd. on September 8.  A contractor at the home reported the incident after a 6x12 Deep Blue work trailer with building supplies including 4x4,1x2, 2x6, and decking boards and two interior doors.  Also stolen was a 695 Nova Paint Sprayer.  The contractor stated that the trailer was dropped off at the site on the evening on 9/17/15.  Estimated value of the theft is over $3900.  Any one with information on this crime should contact the Winston County Sheriff's Department at 662-773-5881 or Winston County Crime Stoppers at 662-773-9999.

Sheriff Office Searching for Info on Home Burglary

Sheriff Department investigators are working leads on a home burglary that occurred on July 7 on Arnett Road in the county. According to the homeowner, the theft likely occurred sometime in the early afternoon hours on Tuesday between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Entrance was gained through the back door of the residence.

Items taken included a SIG p250 pistol, 32 Smith & Wesson pistol, Dell laptop, MacBook Pro laptop, a jewelry box with costume jewelry and a camo bed cover. Investigators have the serial numbers of these items.

Sheriff Searching for Owner of Lost/Stolen Camera

THE OWNER OF CAMERA HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED _ THANK YOU!Olive Branch Law Enforcement advised the Winston County Sheriff's Office that a camera and some softball equipment had recently been recovered in the Olive Branch area.  Officials believe these items had been stolen and are looking for information and the rightful owners.

Photos on the camera and other information indicate that the owner may have a connection to Winston County, Louisville or Winston Academy. If you have lost or had a camera stolen in the last few months, please contact the Winston County Sheriff's Office for more information at 662-773-5881.

Crimestoppers Need Info on Stolen City Truck

TRUCK HAS BEEN RECOVERED
Louisville Police were called to the City Maintenance Barn located in the 400 block of Pontotoc Street on Sunday morning, April 5.  A neighboring property owner indicated that a gate to the property had been vandalized.

After inspection, it was discovered that a 2003 Ford 4-door dual wheel truck - white in color with a black dump bed had been stolen. The tag holder and tag had been removed. Later reports indicate that 4 Goodyear tires were also missing from the property.

Burglaries at Local Churches

SUSPECT IN CUSTODY!!!Winston County Crimestoppers is searching for information
concerning breaking and entering and theft at two local churches in the past week.

Louisville Police were called to Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 410 Spring Street on Saturday, April 4. The front door of the church had been pried open  and a gold colored tabernacle had been removed from the wall at the rear of the church. The tabernacle is similar to the one in the photo.

In addition, the First Baptist Church in Louisville has been broken into twice in the past week. In one instance, petty cash was taken.

Louisville PD Searching for Hit & Run Driver

The Louisville Police Department is asking the public's help in locating the driver who left the scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident with injuries. On March 03, 2015, officers responded to an accident on North Church Ave at the intersection of West College St., where they found a Grey Ford Explorer had been broad-sided and overturned at the intersection. 

The driver and passenger were both injured in the accident. The other vehicle involved in the accident was a white older model Chevrolet truck driven by a white male, possibly in his 40's.

assistance relating to the theft of a bushhog in rural Winston County that occurred on or around February 1st. Local Law Enforcement Searching For Suspect

SEARCH RESOLVED.Winston County law enforcement is asking for the public's assistance in locating this individual.  Nick Rush, born 7/24/1995 is wanted for questioning by the Neshoba County authorities for strong arm robbery.

Suspect Sought

SEARCH RESOLVED!!Law enforcement officials are asking for the public's assistance in
locating a suspect wanted in connection with a felony pursuit that occurred on January 29.

The Winston County Sheriff's Department is searching for Corneilous Henley, a black male, age 32. Henley is described as 5'8" and approximately 145-150 lbs with a distinctive right eye.

On Thursday, January 29, deputies with the Winston County Sheriff's Department seized 41 grams of uncut cocaine after a search of a vehicle involved in a pursuit. The suspects involved ultimately ran from the vehicle and into surrounding woods. Information inside the vehicle and officer identification has led to the search for Henley.
