During the investigation, Sheriff’s deputies received another report from 911 about another vehicle submerged in the Nanih Waiya Creek just a short distance from where the first vehicle was reported stolen. An investigation revealed that the wrecked vehicle in the creek had been stolen from Kemper County. After further investigation it was determined that the subject or subjects who had wrecked the first vehicle, walked away from the vehicle and proceeded to steal the second vehicle from the nearby property.

The theft of the vehicle is still under investigation by the Winston County Sheriff’s Department and any information from the public would be welcome. The vehicle was stolen sometime between 10 PM on January 9 and 4 AM on January 10.

The vehicle is described as a 2004 Dodge Intrepid – maroon or reddish in color with a tag number NEC 538. The vehicle has a MSU tag on the front and a MSU sticker on the back glass. Contact the Winston County Sheriff's Office at 662-773-5881 or Winston County Crime Stoppers at 662-773-9999.
